10th March 2021
Well, what can I say? We have had an unforgettable 12 months.
Hopefully, we now can see light at the end of the tunnel. April the 12th has been promised, if we are all good, for shops to reopen again to our wonderful customers.
I for one am getting overly excited about this... the only problem I have will be getting up and going to work! I have been in lockdown lethargy!
This is a start of a new spring/summer season with new stock, new colours, new designs and a new me!!
I am very excited for you all to see it.
I have been a stockist for Soruka bags for a few years now,but I must say this year the colours are AMAZING!
Soruka bags are unique, sustainable and hand made in recycled leather. Every bag or purse is a one off, no two bags are made in the same colour pallet.
The leather industry creates a large amount of waste with each production cycle. Scrap leather, factory offcuts and pieces of faulty leather all go to furnaces that produce thick toxic smoke adding to the air pollution or to landfill in India, so instead of clogging up their land Soruka have turned off cuts into good use to make stunning handbags and purses in a mix of beautiful colours and styles.
Every bag is UNIQUE.
For the spring I am showcasing a new jewellery designer Bill Skinner in Dartmouth. Bill worked for many designer houses including Van Cleef & Arpels, Aspry and Garrads, Butler & Wilson and Vivienne Westwood. As his success grew to worldwide critical acclaim, he won several royal commissions and noteworthy projects spanning three decades. Years later in 2012, Bill launched his namesake brand with an eponymous collection of remarkably charismatic and distinct costume jewellery.
The majority of Bill’s work is all inspired by nature and beautiful bright colours. His new collection ranges from beautiful hummingbirds in amazing vibrant colours to gorgeous chameleon and the gold trademark Bee jewellery, you really do have to see these pieces to appreciate how wonderfully made they are. Each individual item is created in Bills studio and made by his amazing team.
For our younger customers I have a wonderful range of solid silver earrings and pendants from a company that is based here in Devon. Dew was founded in 1984 in North Devon by siblings Kit Heath and Katie Nickell. Kit says ‘I melted down our mothers silver candlesticks to make jewellery and that proved so popular I started designing here in the UK and importing from the Far East. I sold in gift shops from my VW van!’ This was the start of Kit Heath Jewellery that you find today.
I have a wonderful range of young designs from dogs, cats, unicorns, fairy’s, dinosaurs, and many more starting from as little as £12.
And finally, don’t forget me!! I have been designing and creating new items to show you so please support your high street and come and give us a visit here in Foss Street in Dartmouth, we really can’t wait to welcome you.
